But it's my first real work with watercolours and detail, and hey, I'm not complaining- I'm quite proud of the shading [a first, most definitely], especially since it doesn't look like a first grader's attempt at watercolours. [A genuine fear.]
I hope the fact that it's fanart doesn't mean my inspiration is running out. But, you can get all symbolic and profound. [I'm quite adept at pulling things out of where the sun don't shine- how else would I have gotten my 7 in English?]
Earth and Sky, opposites (ah, the proverbial cliche), a battle between the mortal and immortal, the perfect and imperfect, the sacred and human (bound forever to their imperfection)- a battle that cannot be won, but that exists as long as the two exist, which is eternity because neither can exist without the other. But the irony is that it is the distance, the complete nature of their opposing qualities, that enables them to exist. Their fate is eternally separated and yet inextricably entwined. Irony at its best. Did I mention that the bottom got cut off because it's too big to fit on the scanner? Now that's ir- well, not really. But you know what I mean- totally irrelevant.
(Any mention of cheap penny novels and I disembowel you with a rusty spoon and proceed with a taxidermic procedure that includes stuffing you with said novels.)
Note also that each carries a colour of his opposite ( hooray for ambiguity, I wouldn't want to give it away...).
So, without further ado-
Yes, it's Pet Shop of Horrors. How many of you were surprised? Honestly?
And just for your viewing pleasure- a taste of Croatia. (Thanks Orel for the pictures, we all know how lazy I am.) More to come!

Hey Nel,
In case you were wondering, the "subject" pertains to me seeing the pic before...Anyway, I don't know. I guess we're up to the same thing, or should I say, the same nothing:)
Love,
